Professional Bio

Elizabeth Barbella is the President & CEO of The Community Foundation Martin - St. Lucie. In her role as CEO, Elizabeth is responsible for operationalizing the Foundation’s mission to work with individuals, families and corporations to impact communities by engaging in well-informed and strategic charitable giving. Since joining the Foundation in 2016, the Foundation has not only quadrupled its asset base but also its Fund accounts.

Before becoming the CEO of the Foundation, Elizabeth was CEO of the House of Hope, the largest not for profit organization providing basic needs services in Martin County. Prior to her role at House of Hope, she was the Director of Policy and Operations at the Children’s Services Council of Martin County for 14 years. Her work with the Council focused on advocacy, investing in and incubating transformational social and health and human service programs. Throughout her career, Elizabeth has worked with hundreds of charities in the areas of organizational capacity building and sustainability.
