Susie Bowie

Susie Bowie is the President/CEO of the William G. and Marie Selby Foundation, a private foundation investing in high-performing students and in results-focused nonprofits in Sarasota, Manatee, Charlotte and DeSoto counties.

Prior to joining the Selby Foundation in March 2023, Susie worked in the community foundation field for 17 years, most recently as the Executive Director of Manatee Community Foundation where she grew the foundation’s assets and developed high-quality programs for community, donor and nonprofit engagement. She held various positions supporting nonprofit organizations, donors and partnerships at the Community Foundation of Sarasota County including launching The Giving Partner and the Giving Challenge, tools that helped nonprofit organization share their results and increase fundraising capacity. She has extensive experience leading nonprofit board retreats and trainings for nonprofit organizations.

Susie is a graduate of Leadership Florida and is the current chair of the Charitable Gift Planners of SW Florida chapter. She also serves on the board of directors of Visit Sarasota County. She is a member of the International Women’s Forum. Susie graduated with honors from the University of Florida and holds a B.S. in Environmental Science. She has a Certificate in Nonprofit Management from the University of South Florida. A resident of Parrish, Florida, Susie enjoys time in nature, time with her two rescue dogs Scout and Ted Lasso, and time with her husband Larry.
