Short Time Compensation Program for Employers
From the Florida Department of Economic Opportunity
Summary:

  • Designed to support economy to avoid layoffs
  • 24 hours of a full-time work week must be covered by agency
  • DEO will pay up to $275 per week to supplement employee income
  • Available for up to 12 months once approved
  • HR Dept, Financial Officer, or Bookkeeper should complete application in Connect
  • A re-employment plan is required
  • At least a 10% in reduced hours and at least 10% of staff must be working at the "at least 10%" reduction in hours
  • Pre-existing program that could be used immediately without PPP or after PPP expires
  • Legislation that covers the program
